Dido & Aeneas

A performance of Purcell’s Baroque masterpiece given by participants of Opera Caledonia’s Performance Project – a young artist programme with singers from the UK, the USA and Europe – in the glorious surroundings of St. Giles’ Cathedral.

This performance will be conducted from the harpsichord by Derek Clark, Scottish Opera’s celebrated former Head of Music, alongside strings from The Orchestra of Scottish Opera in a production directed by Iona Boyd, whose recent directing engagements include the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opera North and Scottish Opera.  

This performance will be sung in English.
