Jonathan Santagada: Conductor & Pianist

Jonathan Santagada, Italian conductor and pianist, has worked with the most prestigious Opera houses, Symphonic Orchestras and Festivals in the world.
 
He has conducted operas and concerts at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Palau de les Arts in Valenica with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Orchestra del Teatro Regio in Turin, Opera North in Leeds, Orchestra de I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, Theater Basel, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.
 
He is regularly invited to the Salzburg Festival as assistant conductor to Maestro Marco Armiliato and works regularly with Maestro Maurizio Benini (Teatro Real, Dutch National Opera, Royal Opera House, Les Arts Valencia).
 
Jonathan Santagada has worked intensively for many years at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, especially with the musical director, Sir Antonio Pappano and some of the world’s best conductors, directors and opera singers. 
 
In 2021 he was responsible for the musical part of the first opera film by director Damiano Michieletto “Gianni Schicchi”, presented at the Torino Film Festival and broadcast by RAI UNO.
 
He has held masterclasses at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, CNIPAL (Centre National d’Artistes Liriques) in Marseille, “Fabbrica young artists program” of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, and he teaches Conducting at the Reggio Emilia State Conservatoire in Italy.
 
Jonathan Santagada studied music at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music in Turin and at the Conservatoire Supérieur de musique in Lyon, France.
