Arshak Kuzikyan

British-Armenian baritone Arshak Kuzikyan is rapidly establishing himself as a dynamic and versatile presence on the operatic stage. A double First Prize winner at both the Pavel Lisitian & Tatevik Sazandaryan National Voice Competition (Armenia) and the Les Azuriales International Singing Competition (France), Arshak has distinguished himself as a compelling performer in both dramatic and comic roles across a broad operatic repertoire.

He began his vocal training at the Yerevan State Conservatory before continuing his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Wales International Academy of Voice, where he studied under the guidance of world-renowned tenor Dennis O’Neill. His talent and promise have been recognised with several prestigious awards, including the Sadler’s Wells Independent Opera Postgraduate Voice Fellowship (2015) and a scholarship from the Georg Solti Foundation. He is also a Samling Artist, having made his Wigmore Hall debut as part of the Samling Showcase.

Arshak’s operatic engagements reflect his wide-ranging repertoire and artistic versatility. His roles include Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore and Colline in La Bohème (Gijón, Spain), Sir John Falstaff in Sir John in Love (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Leporello in Don Giovanni and Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Armenian National Opera), and Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Trentino Music Festival, Italy, and RCS). At the New Generation Opera Festival, he again sang Dulcamara as well as Masetto in Don Giovanni. He also appeared as The Duke in Romeo and Juliet with Grange Park Opera.

Arshak has also performed the title role in Macbeth with English Touring Opera, Mid Wales Opera, and Duchy Opera. In 2024, he made notable debuts as Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola (English Touring Opera) and Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bradford Opera Festival).

More recently, he was featured in the UK premiere of Saint-Saëns’ The Silver Bell, performing the role of Spiridion with New Sussex Opera, and sang the role of Blasio in Salieri’s La scuola de’ gelosi with New Chamber Opera in Oxford.
